I have the Brother 1500 Nouvelle 1500s. I really love this machine but not so much today. For reasons unknown before today, every time I use the auto thread cutter the bobbin thread cuts too short inside and I have to re thread it from the case through the cutting guide. It's never happen before. I'm using Aurifil 50# top and bobbin with walking foot. It happens with any foot I'm using though. Anyone have a suggestion to how to solve this? The machine is sewing great otherwise.

The bobbin thread has always been short when using the auto thread cutter but I have never had to re thread it through the cutting guide until now.

I would try doing a search because this topic has come up before. I tried the suggestions that were give previously, but none of them worked for me.

I have a 1500. And there have been different threading suggestions for the thread cutting issue... I dont care to change the way I thread my machine so I raise the needle and move the machine a few inches either left or right before I hit the cutting button. Just a thought.

I just got one of them and I raise the needle bar before cutting it other wise the spool jumps and the needle comes unthreaded.

I was told by the dealer to never use the auto thread cutter unless the needle was in the down position with pressure foot down. To keep the needle from coming unthreaded, don't put the thread into all three threading holes on the three hole bar, just use the first hole.

I called a dealer I found online and the repairman at the shop said to not thread it through the cutter guide underneath. It works fine now!

What a simple idea, call a dealer and ask for help! I did that this morning. My Janome was not winding in place and duh, I wasn't doing it right and I knew how, just didn't register with me today! The dealer was super nice and I ordered a new foot from her after seeing her website. Thanks for the idea! Sure saved me a service call and being made to feel even more duhness. Ha.
