After seeing all the lovely BQ2 quilt pics I am looking to purchase the pattern on-line. Maple Island Quilts do not have an on-line shopping cart.

I have found the pattern available at Quiltbus and Little Hunting Creek Company - they both ship international - but I am not familiar with either company.

Can anyone give me any feedback about buying from these companies or know of another shop I could try.

Any assistance welcomed.

I just enlarged the site you mentioned and I believe you can figure out the block without having a pattern. Seems to me the blocks are put together one up, one down to appear as stair steps. It is gorgeous.

Thanks for the assistance SewSydney. I had checked Ebay earlier but not come up with this entry. Have just now ordered online. Check out Charismah's tiger BQ2 on this link, there are also a few others in this pattern if you do a search for BQ2

Yes, this is a great website - lots of info and help. You've been here about as long as I have but I don't think I have bumped into you before. There have been lots of new Aussies joining lately. The word must have gotten out!

Thank you also mannem for your help. The pattern pack comes with multiple sizings which is why I am more interested in purchasing it rather than straining my feeble brain. Or am I just lazy?

Thanks again.

patterns are always easier. At the beginning of the school year, paper supplies are plentifull and I stock up on graph paper (sq 1/4 x 1/4"). Start from the outside in with your desired block size. Play, have fun!

Looks like streak o'lightning, only instead of the same size strips, one is 3 or 4 times wider than the other.

Does BQ2 stand for something?

I think "big quilt". ?? Something to do with showcasing large scale patterns and/or novelty prints. I actually prefer the alternative layout where it doesn't make a streak of lightening.
