Does anyone know where I can get a good deal on some good thick and strong utility type canvas. I found something on JoAnn's website for $22 (that's 50% off) but I don't think that's the thick stuff I want. Man this stuff is expensive. I'm not exactly sure what its called to even look for it. Hopefully someone on here knows even what its called so I have a better idea as to what I'm looking for. The thick, strong stuff. Thanks a ton.

I found duck canvas on ebay. 24 yards for $40 with free shipping. Sounds like a really really good deal. Does anyone know anything about Duck canvas? Is it good thick tough stuff? Thanks!

Go to any hardware store and ask for painters drop cloth. If you need this to
make a pressing board, make sure it's 100% cotton. A lot cheaper that what
you mentioned.

Duck canvas is a finer canvas as far as canvases go, it shrinks like crazy crosswise more than lengthwise so I would definately wash it first unless you are making something which will not be washed. Art supply shops usually have good quality canvases up to the very large, also furnishing fabric shops should stock the utility kinds of canvas. Most shrink heaps so beware!

I recently purchased painters drop cloth at Lowe's more reasonable than other places. I haven't washed it yet, so don't know about shrinkage.

Where are you located? I have a couple of plactic bins full of it that I acquired thru donations and friends. Haven't made any canvas bags yet though. Too much going on. It has been here for over a year so it's time to go. Pass it on. Let me know if you are even close. I do believe it is too heavy to ship but may be cheaper than buying it. Let's talk.
