This is my first time posting pictures, so I hope it works. Here are some photos of the cat quilt I am making for my granddaughter. First one is without sashing, second one is with. Don't know if I will use this fabric for sashing, just wanted to see what it would look like. What do you think I should do for border?

I don't know which one I like better. I think I am leaning towards no sashing, and I cannot help with your border selection. Be sure to show us what you come up with.

The sashing makes the quilt much brighter. I'm a blue person so I would pull one of the blue colors to the border. Just a thought.

I like the sashing! Gives the blocks definition. No idea for a border, but would go with something lighter than the sashing

I like it without sashing, and I also think blue would make a nice border.

I too like it without sashing, but as I am fairly long in the tooth, your grand-daughter may prefer it brighter (with sashing)! As for the border, just pick out a colour from the centre (perhaps she has a favourite). Beautiful work, whatever you choose....thanks for showing us.

I really think the dashing makes the quilt pop. Without it the blocks seems to blend too much into each other.

I too am a bit older, but I like it without the sashing, something about the spacial quality that I like. Follow your "sewing gut feeling" that's usually right.
