Hello. I have a strange request. My mother, a quilter, passed away last year. As I was going through her things, I discovered that she had taken a photo of every quilt she had made. I would love to be able to preserve these photos in some special way... a collage of photos to hang on the wall? What? Does anyone have any ideas? This would be such an easy way for everyone to quickly see the beauty of her lifetime work. Thank you. Hope someone has a wonderful idea for what I can do with these photos.

Maybe scan the photos, print on photo transfer paper and do a memory quilt?

Maybe you can make a memory quilt with those pictures of quilts that your mom made. Scan those pictures into your computer, print the pictures on fabric, then make a memory quilt. I think that would be a great way of honoring your moms beautiful work.

Then put the pictures in a photo album or keep them on your hard drive and have those pics come up on your computer when it goes into the sleep mode. Just an idea.

There are studios that will set photographs to music on a dvd. My cousins did one for their father for his 80th birthday. It wasn't very expensive, and they used pictures from every year of his life they had available. It would be cool if you could incorporate some photos of your mother, and maybe the people who recieved or used some of her quilts in the dvd too.

Good ideas! Thank you! This is such a helpful group! Please keep the ideas coming. Most likely, I will do the memory quilt thing. I picture an all white background, so that the beautiful colors and designs of the quilts show up well. How do I find someone who can do this for me, with quality? This will be an heirloom. Thank you again.

One other thing... if you were me, would you keep it simple, with only the quilt photos, or would you add other photos or quotations (photos of my mom, quilting quotations, anything). Part of me thinks it would be "classier" to simply have the quilt photos. i know it is a matter of preference. Just wanted to know your ideas.

How many pictures are there? I personally think it would be nice to have pics of your mom. I think you need to decide how big you want this quilt to be. Do you want it to be wall hanging size, lap quilt size, or bigger? I also would think that you would want more than just white on the quilt. Maybe do a snowball pattern with your mom's favorite color on the corners and print the pics on white fabric.

I have made about 7 memory quilts for friends, it can get very costly to hire someone to do this. Maybe you can make the top yourself, then hire someone to do the quilting part of it.

No, I couldn't do any part of it, besides scanning the photos and selecting the photos. Would like to hire someone to do all of it.
