I would love to start quilting my own things and am looking into purchasing a portable home quilting machine.....possibly a Juki TL2000Qi or Elna 7100 speed control quilting machine. Would love to hear your input on those or any other machines. Thank You!!!

Check out the Bailey Home Quilting machines. I have the 13" one, but they come in 15" and 17" too. The website address is http://www.baileyssewingcenter.com/homequilter.html. Not a lot of bells and whistles but built solidly and well priced.

Hi Carmine,

There is literally tons of material on this subject on the QB. I know you can search it out.

I have the HandiQuilter, upgraded so it has the ProStitcher.

Guess it all comes down to the basics:
- your budget
- the amount of space you have [I can only use mine up to 8 ft due to lack of space.]
- what features you want to have: computerized or not.
- does the machine have someone locally who can service it if needed. [HQ does beautiful support. Another HQ owneer had never had her machine in to a shop as the HQ people have talked her through any needed maintenance!]
- and then .... which machine do you bond with.

Take you time and enjoy the journey.

I got my 2010 the first of the year. I called and ordered it from Raicharts.com. Haven't had a bit of trouble with it at all. I was amazed at how much better my FMQ is with this machine. I also have the Grace GMQ Pro but haven't put it together yet. I got it for Valentine's Day.

I have a Juki TL98Q and the Grace start right frame. Not together yet but, check out KathyQuilts.com they are great about answering any questions you have. Also there are yahoo groups for both the grace frames and juki machines.
