I like that name, also. Thanks for the kind words. She was a wonderful lady and taught me a lot in her 92+ years on this earth. I miss her greatly. There are six kids in my family. So my Mom made 6 lone star quilts and 6 USA state quilts. (In addition to the 100s of other quilts she made.) They had the state outlines, state capitals, state flowers, and state birds embroidered on a white background. She hand embroidered them all. She always had busy hands unless she was sleeping.

It looks like the around the world variation called the Navajo quilt. Named because it looks like a Navajo rug.

Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Trip Around the World. I used this pattern to make my first quilt. I loved it even though it was so WONKY...lol
