Recently, two of the guilds I attend had pincushion exchanges. I think everyone should have a basketful of pincushions in their sewing room. Man, there are some adorable pincushions out there! And now my personal stash of pincushions has grown since I took the photo...they keep multiplying...

Show me your pincushions! What's your favorite?

Love the little Owl I made yesterday from a pattern HERE: http://moonstitches.typepad.com/phot...ial/index.html

I have quite afew pincushions, but could use more. The owl is adorable. I have at least 2 per room, but still never have one where I need it. I'll have to make another. What do most of you use for the inside??

Nice collection, very creative. I love the made in occupied japan one with the men holding the cushion, but the most practical one has to be the large one in the back.

I collect the old ones, love the wear that they show over the years. I also collect the old sewing kits.

I have been looking at the thrift stores, for "bottoms" for pin cushions and have come up with a lot of cute, cheap, things to use.........now, when am I gonna have time to actually make them.......I bought a box of steel wool scrubby things, to put in them (somebody on here said to do that, to make the pins sharp)..has anyone seem the cute "sewing machine" one that is at Tuesday Morning...... I wanted one, but thought it was a bit expensive for my tight budget.

I've seen some nice ones using dollar store frames, cookie cutters or small jam jars for the base. Also those small dvds would make a nice flat base. I go to a lot of yardsales and pick up candle holders to use too.

Some time ago I saw a beautiful pincushion that used a cd for a base. I make pincushions in old solda fountaing glasses and ice cream glasses.
