The scale of the prints will also give a clue. On decade was smaller than the other. I forget which! Pretty tho!

Thanks everyone for your input. My neighbor was leaning toward a soft solid color like a cornflower blue. Besides the purples & greens, there is also reds, blues including navy, yellows, and browns. I like the idea of the muslin too. The dating has helped her with maybe which relative completed this top. You are all so helpful!
