    as you go along? I would love to work on a square at a time and hand quilt it and then sew it together?
    any ideas? thanx :)

    Search the board for the qayg patterns (quilt as you go), you can also check on-line for patterns.

    AGree with finding lots of patterns...quilt as you go...Even if you want to do a different block than you find in a pattern or tute, use their technique for doing seams and do your own blocks.

    you make the batting the same size as the block. the backing, whatever you choose to use, should be 2 inchesl arger. or measure 1 inch larger on all 4 sides. (the make a ruler for this i think it is called the batting buddy, i think) then you quilt each piece, then join the squares when done. i did a quilt this way a few years ago..i will try to find the pictures of the steps..i may have them on webshots. here is the quilt i made..although it is a string quilt, same idea..

    Do a Google search on Georgia Bonesteel. She has at least 2 books out on quilt as you go. She's the 'expert', so to speak.
