I was doing a google search for something and on one of the irrelevant pages I found a reference to Caterpillar Binding (which I had never heard of) so checked it out. I thought it a cute option and thought I would share.

Have any of you ever done this? If so how did you like the results? I noticed reading the instructions that one is done on the straight of grain and the other on the bias. Which do you think would ravel the best? Ann in TN

I would think that the bias binding would fray better. I have not tried it but it does look interesting.

interesting, but I doubt I will ever do it. especially NOT on a childs quilt. A- for a baby it is a choking hazard and B- kids quilts get washed a lot, won't take long for that binding to fray off!

Definitely interesting. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to cut through the beautiful binding I had just sewn :) I agree that the bias binding would fray better
