i seen the post about charity quilts last night, had to order ,now im anxious for it to get here, know a lot have done this ,this is my first time so am a little excited. any advice will help as i have never machine quilted but going to give it all i can hope it will be good enough.

A walking foot is a must. For your first machine quilted project, try a simple pattern, like stitch in the ditch or a grid.

i have a walking foot ,i will practice on it before i do the actual quilt, thank you so glad i found this board have learned so much already, what a great bunch of quilters.

First a walking foot is good. Then if you practice on some scraps, that also will help.

The quilts come fast and are easy to put together. There is no rule on the quilting they just want it to be secure to hold up to industrial washing.

Don't forget to drop your feed dog so the quilt moves around well. It is easy and fun. Keep a good speed and do yout thing.LOL

just do a simple cross hatch,or grid like mentioned above..it will be just fine!

she was referring to "quilts for kids". she sent for the free quilt kit..you make it..then use your own fabrics and make one. then mail them both off back to them. sweet fabrics always..you get the pattern free too.

please read the specifics..they do not want any hand quilting, including the binding..they give you plenty of fabric to bring the backing over to the front for the binding.
