here is a pic of mine. not sure where i got the pattern when i did these years ago. i've not seen another pattern quite like them. the rooster has one more round than the hen. what i like about these is that the log cabin blocks are the same, but the hen has the white on top and the rooster has the white on the bottom.

I think there's a video on Quilters TV. Look under the Quilting With Shar videos.

A friend sent me a chicken pattern that is made from log cabin blocks, but I don't know if it is a pin cushion. I don't know where it is at this time, but I will look for it and post it, if I am lucky enough to find it. If not, I will ask her to send it to me again.

thank you so very much for all the replies. I have been "stewing" over these for quite some time. Maybe now I can produce some. I just love this board and all the friendly, intelligent, inspiring folks on it! Looks like others will be enjoying the pattern too.

I made one with the log cabin base BUT pins always seem to hit a seam when I put them back in. Well the pin does not go all the way in, so I made another one with a non-pieced square of fabric. Much better for me while sewing and not looking when I put each pin in the chicken.
