This looks like a very easy pattern and great for using up your scraps. I think I am going to give it a try. My question is: what would be a good quilting pattern for this block? Any help will be appreciated.

Most anything would look good on that pattern. As someone said, an all over pattern. How about a simple vine with leaves going in every direction? I recently saw a bunch of hearts connected. Your possibilities are limitless.
