I've been starting to think of making one ... I was thinking of a hexagon table skirt pattern from Eleanor Burns and putting a slit in it for the tree. Or perhaps a carpenter's star?

Or???? ... looking for inspiration and more ideas too!

There is a book called Quilts Without Corners. It is for the degree ruler and it has the round butterfly quilt pattern and several tree skirt patterns in it. The author is Cheryl Phillips.

I actually did do a search here, and Yarn or Fabric your link didn't show up for me..??.. Now, maybe it was the searchee (me) however... ;) So, thank you for posting it!!
Thank you to all of you for the links and ideas...
As to the degree wedge rulers, I recall seeing a link somewhere here that leads to a site where the have a pdf for a quilt, and with it is a paper template for a "wedge"...I printed it out, and was going to make if from foam board, but my dh said he would make me one that was sturdier...it is a loooong wedge, not sure if that is how they should be, need to do more research... Anyways, I will try and find that link and post it here...
Thanks again,
Kif

Y or F,
I just had to come back and give you a big cyber hug!! Now my problem is which one to make??!! :-D I had one I made 20+ years ago, when our son was a baby...it is one of the felt ones with all of the bead, sequin, embroidery embellishment...took quite a long time to make.. Our son graduated from college and bought his 1st house last year, so I "gifted" that skirt and the ornaments we had bought him thru the years to him for his Christmas tree...what memories....(mini boohoo). However, I did have to keep his "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornament...I am not THAT nice!!...
Anyways, now I need to make one for dh and I..and our empty nest tree...I think I need to go and just get started on it, or my "mini boohoo" may turn maxi!!
Thanks again,
Kif
