Hi,Please has anyone some ideas I could use to make a banner for my church.We are a very small fellowship and I would like to make something for the front of the church.I have a few ideas abourt design but have never attempted a banner. Happy New Year to all.

I have done them. I made basically a wallhanging. I backed it with heavy fusible web.

Letty-Are you making your banner out of fabric or felt? All the banners in our church are felt. Any design that is appliqued on is usually done with a fabric glue. What motif are you thinking about?

Hi Marcia,I really want to make the banner using mixed fabrics,possibly with a pieced background, perhaps a colorwash and applique picture. I have in my mind a cross wound around with a vine.I guess I just need the confidence to have a go.Many thanks, Letty

I've seen a couple somewhere that were done using the stained glass technique. It may have been on this board somewhere...I'll look. They looked beautiful! So, thats an idea for you. If I can find the thread, I'll come back here and link it for you.
