Is anyone working on a Civil War quilt? I started one this past week and decided to hand piece it. The first block was easy, got it done in 1 hour but the second block took 6 hours. I only have 6 blocks to go.

Well, technically I have. I put together a baby quilt using a nine-patch pattern that is based of a Sanitary Commission quilt. I want to start collecting the quilt suggestions listed in the Godey/Peterson's from 1859 to 1865. One of these days I will get that done. :)

What patterns are you using for your quilt?

this is the book I'm using to do my cw quilt this year. My plan is to do a block a month. I really have enjoyed this book.
I've been collecting cw fabric for a 2 or 3 years now - I hope I can make it all come together!

I'm thinking of starting one and would love to see a pic of yours. My problem is that I just don't know where to start!

I've been following Barbara Brackman's CW Block of the Week blog: http://civilwarquilts.blogspot.com/

Here's my flickr photostream for the blocks we've done so far - my blocks aren't nearly as good as most of the other participants, but it's been a lot of fun:

I have two more quilts that I'm doing in CW repros for Blocks of the Month. Those are still in blocks and a long way from being assembled.

Here's the latest top that I finished:
