Hi, i'm new here and need help with how to put tog a clamshell quilt. i've cut and basted my tops of the clamshell, what next. thanks everyone

Just to make sure I understand correctly: You have sewn the top, sandwiched the top with batting and the backing, and basted those three layers. Next is actual quilting. Are you planning to hand quilt or machine quilt?

Hmm.. sounds more to me like you have cut out the clamshells and basted under the curved edges.. is this it or the other?
also need to know if you're hand or machine piecing if this is a piecing question.

I've cut out the clamshells
I've basted the top of the clamshells
NOW..... How in the world to i put the whole thing together???? HELP please???

Yes, i love it, but i'm doing it all by hand, so i jumped in last night. laid out backing, batting and started to had applique down the opcs. Is that right???

I didn't baste mine as I did it all by machine, so maybe someone can help you. I just sewed them together with a 1/4" seam, turning them carefully as to not stretch out the bias edge. Did you get directions with your template?

there was no template, I made it up myself, so I have nothing to go on except what I've seen. thanks
