Cleaning the bed of my Janome
Does anyone have any suggestions on cleaning the bed of my Janome sewing machine?? I just finished putting together and quilting a very yellow quilt, and now the very edges all around my sewing machine is very yellow and the bed itself is kinda pale yellow. It's so yellow it looks aged! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Susan

This is fabric crocking. I had it happen once with red fabric. I tried lots of different solutions but it eventually wore off with continued sewing. The next time you go to sew a colour saturated fabric, you might cover the machine bed with Glad Press and Seal to prevent crocking. As for removing it I would try alcohol, hair spray, peroxide etc. on a small area to see if it with lift the colour but not harm the surface of the machine.

I was also going to suggest the Mr. Clean magic eraser. Also good on stains is a mix of peroxide and dawn dishwashing liquid. Just don't saturate the bed too much so no moisture goes into the machine.

Thanks so much for the suggestions! I happen to have Mr Clean under my sink. I'll be sure to try in a spot not to noticable in case it does scratch. I did try the hair spray and suprising to me it did work. So I know I can go back to that!
Thanks so much every one! I knew I could count on the quilting board to help with any problem I might come across! This place is truly amazing!
