I was reading the post about the quilt being returned. How can anyone not like a nice cozy homemade quilt???? I mean to pick store bought over handmade??? Just think how many other people have bought the same exact BLANKET and how many actually have the same QUILT!!! No one has the same quilt... no two quilts will ever be exact.

Everyone is different, I guess, but I know I'd NEVER return a quilt made for me with love even if quilts were not my style. Just knowing someone went to all that work to make it just for me would make me love it.

Some people like a zen environment, some only like solids and no pattern, others don't like anything country. Some don't like homemade because they equate it to hand-me-downs. I can think of many reasons.

Key is to find that out BEFORE gifting a quilt.

Everyone has different likes and dislikes in life. Not everyone likes quilts, that is OK! It is a personal choice as to what people like in their life.
You can't force anyone to like something just because you think it's the cat's meow!

Better she got it back then seeing it in a yard sale, like one person here said she did some time ago.

I agree that not everyone likes quilts. I have received gifts that weren't "my thing" but given by my children, hubby, etc and I treasure them!!!
Martina is right about asking first but I just can't imagine one of my sons returning a quilt I made. They are sentimental like me lol
