Try 2 1/2 square, facing you,up 5/8 (mark) that's the right side, then up around the corner mark 5/8 over from corner, around another corner 5/8 down, around the last corner do the last 5/8's.that should work.Does that make since?

I did a 2 inch square into a twister ruler. I put my marks from the 3/4 inch to 3/4 inch measurement on four sides? It turned out twisted but not twister shaped so you would want a bit more of an angle. I had to log out to answer your thread it would not come up in the regular forum. One problem with going down to a 2 inch square was that I was leery of making the angle too steep due to the seam allowances. My Christmas tree is now a Twisted tree rather than twister but I love it anyway. It's got it's own Charlie Brown Christmas Tree thing going on. Hopefully I will get it posted before Christmas if my DIL will help. Good luck!

Lay your square on another twister at the x and the lines will always match up. Just mark where they belong. This works on any size.

Is this what you mean?

One could mark any size template plastic to get the square size one wanted.

Divide the size of the template by 4 and that is where you put your mark on each side. So if your template is 5" and you divide that by 4 you would mark the template 1.25" on each side to draw the lines. I did it on a 3" template and it worked great. I think what noahcats suggests would also work.
