Has anyone ever made cloth drawstring bags to store homemade bread? Some of the ones I've seen on line were either made of linen, tea towels or osnaberg fabric. What I had on hand was unbleached muslin. The drawstring closed tightly, but I noticed this morning that the fresh loaf that was in it had dried out considerably. I did only use a single layer of muslin. Any suggestions? 2 layers of fabric maybe?? I really thought that the muslin with it's tighter weave would have been better than a linen.

Twould be why I would think we went to the modern invention of plastic bags that seal closed!
I would think that cloth bags would be for decorative purposes over the plastic bag that the bread is purchased in.
