I have been making some projects from cotton clothesline where fabric strips are wound around the clothesline and then stitched in a coil using machine zigzag stitches. I do fine with the starting and the body, but am having difficulty with ending the coil so it tapers nicely. Has anyone made these projects? (Fons and Porter did a show on them fairly recently.) If so, do you have suggestions for the end.

Look at this one to get an idea how to end it. It looks like the fabric is sewed to the inside.

Thanks Amma and Sondray. These directions and the photo of the basket purse really helped me. Now I will undo the last part of my project and try to get it to look more professional.

Right now I don't have any pictures, but will try and get some. Several of the projects I have given away as gifts with contents inside of them.
