Hi, I purchased muslin to make the cloth leaders for the Next Generation Grace frame that I recently purchased second hand. I have also purchased the red snappers to help loan the backing.
    I have some questions,
    1) how long should the cloth leader be?
    2) how many do I need - the frame has four poles?
    Thanks

You need 3--1 for the takeup roller in the throat of the sewing machine. 1 for the quilt top and 1 for the backing. The batting usually doesn't need a leader--it will go on the 4th bar if you decide to roll it.

You'll want your leader the same length as your bars less 6-12". It depends on how much room you need to change bobbins.
