Hello All-- Was wondering if anyone has used the Bias Tape Maker by Clover? Is it worth the trouble or just another gadget that will sit w/ the other "must have" nicknacks?? Thanks

When I first learned how to quilt, I had no idea how to make binding, so purchase the bias maker and now 20 years later, I still use it. I use mine on every binding I make. But thats just me :)

I have them in every size. They hang on a hook right by my ironing board. I love them, use them more often then I thought I would. Such a simple little tool ! There is one you can make the bias tape and put on a fusible strip all in one step. I purchased mine before the fusible strip feature was added , just never got around to "up grading".

I make stainglass patterns where you need yds of black 1/4" bias, burned my hand too many times making it the old fashioned way, so I do have 1 in that size, & use it for stems in my applique also. It' s easier too iron & don' t have to get close enough to burn your fingers.

I don' t think I need any other size & unless a great sale price probably would onky but the size to make binding for a quilt. I'm about to make binnding for a king, i' m sure it would speed up the process.

I have these in 3 sizes. They work fine. I use the wide [1"] one to make bindings for jumper armholes and necklines and to trim aprons.
The narrow one makes nice stems for applique flowers.
If you use bias tape very much, compare the cost of the tape maker to the cost of a couple packages readymade tape.

I have three sizes and use them a lot, especially in my applique work. I love the fusible feature, it easy.

I bought one to try out and really love it - helps me keep it pretty even.

Does anyone have an electric one, though? If you do, how do you like it?
