    Clover Wedge Iron

Have any of you tried this iron yet? This link is to a short Clover show and tell, says it has 3 heat settings

I have a small iron, but I'm doing english paper piecing and giving those components a good pressing from the back is sort of a problem because in pressing one bit the back of the iron is incorrectly pressing the back bits

Amazon has it for $41.80 + shipping. I have a small iron and will just stick to using it. It's great idea but not crazy about the price.

Have you considered the mini iron instead? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a_eYPfCaIA

I use a wooden iron for my PP. It really is amazing how flat that they press. I bought mine from QIAD:

english paper piecing is much different than paper foundation piecing. I'm with you, I love my little wooden stick for that

I don't have a wooden iron, but I do use the half of a pincher clothespin. Have used it for many things in years past.

Saw one demo'd at a Quilt Show Thursday. It's cute, nice size, but I think it's overpriced. I got a small iron at Joanne's a year or so ago for about $10, heats well, no steam (which is my preference). Personally, I wasn't that impressed with the Clover Wedge mini iron but they were selling well.

I just use my regular iron for foundation pp'ing. I set up a small tray table (read - old 'tv tray') next to my sewing machine so I can press as I go. For EPP, I just finger pressed the fabric being folded over the paper and frankly did not worry about the seams as I was joining them. Figured as long as everything was being treated 'equally' it would all work out in the wash - literally as well as figuratively - which it did. No issues at all.

I have the Clover II mini iron. You can get the "Large" sole plate for it that is slightly smaller than the Wedge Iron sole plate or just use the Standard sole plate that comes with it. It works great for me to press seams & touch up any areas that get a bit wrinkled.
