Today I received in the mail a block for the charity quilts that I am making from sending out the Candlequilter Star Block pattern. But along with the beautiful block Coco sent me a big priority flat rate box full of fabrics to use in putting these charity quilts together. I am so impressed with Coco's great generosity! She sent a block and all the fabric - wow! And here earlier this week I was feeling down because of the low percentage of blocks that I have received so far in regard to the number of patterns I have sent out. Coco thank you again for your wonderful generosity and for making me feel better about the whole overall project.

Gratefully,
Sherryl

Sherryl it is really easy to miss out on what's going on if you miss a few days on the board. Could you go over the plan you have for these beautiful blocks. I missed out on the details. If you could go over them again others might jump in to help too:)

I didn't not count on how difficult the block is and I just haven't had the time to spend on it, but I will get one to you. I promised. ;)

Me too! I read some posts about the difficulty level, then went on vacation, now have my new machine...but, the instructions are sitting out in plain view, so I have not forgotten. I will get it done. :)

CandleQuilter ... I am one of the late comers. Life got in the way for awhile, and with all the posts about the problems in doing the block, and being a new PPer, I truly was petrified to start at it. So I somewhat put it off ... as I knew if it was going to be difficult better wait for when my brain was fully in gear. Now it's done, and we have this postal strike here in Canada .... and so there's no sense in me mailing it, til they get back to work.

Others ..... please don't listen to the negativity around this block. As I worked on it, I kept thinking, oh it'll be at the next step that I'll have problems. I read CQ's instructions. I read the tutorial here on the Board ... and I started PPing. I just went thru each of the steps and it all came together. When I started putting the sections together, they went together OK ... and opened up flat, even before I pressed it.

So pleeeeease ...... do not fear it, and just follow what has been said to do. Maybe it was just beginners luck? No, I don't think so ... I think it was because I did read the instructions, and followed them. Perish the thought!!!

If you'd like to see mine ....

Thanks CandleQuilter for sharing ... it was a good challenge for me to do and I proved to myself that I can do this PP stuff!

I did have problems, and I did read all of the information. I don't know if it was the paper or the fabric(the paper was kind of thick), but I was frustrated. I will keep trying--I don't give up easily, but I might have to send something else in the meantime because I don't want Candlequilter to think I took advantage of her. It is a beautiful pattern.

I am working on mine too. I got half completed today. It is taking me a little longer than I thought it would, but it will be on its way soon. Thank you for what you are doing.
