I'd probably take the aqua in graduations right through to teal and the brown from light to chocolate. Chocolate? Where did that come from, none in the house right now, must go to store!

Sounds like she reads or sees the same things as my granddaughter. I was requested to make she and her finance' decorative pillows for their bed in choclate and fushia. That is the other color that is now "hot" with chocolate brown. Farmer Girl's suggestions sound good.
Good luck!

Browns and teals, how wonderful! Check out the Legacy Studio collection, Indian Flower. I got some of it and love it. I got mine at Joann's. It may become a bow tucks purse, but my DGD loves those colors too so it may become something for her.

Well, it sounds like you will have to get some new fabric. Aqua and brown is a popular color combination now. My daughter just asked me to make her a new bed quilt in "chocolate and spa blue."

I have seen many fabric collections in these colors--some modern, retro, some traditional and romantic. Moda has a lot of new fabric with these colors. This color combo can be cooled with green, warmed with rose, or made sharper with white. Here are a couple of collections that include these colors.

Have fun! And please share pix of the quilt when you finish it!

I was commissioned to do a queen quilt in teal and brown for a man. WOW, was that a challenge only because I didn't want to use any florals. (the girl who commissioned it said he is a "manly man") - here is what I came up with. Hope this gives you some ideas... although photos not great

Have you picked a pattern? Are you looking to add other colors? If so, I like a touch of dark yellow (mustard -- brownish gold) along with brown and aqua. I think it makes aqua pop a little brighter --- a whole quilt of just brown and aqua may look a little flat. just my opinion. :)
