Sometimes I see a pattern that I like but don't like the colors. So I view the picture in "my photos" and then click on Edit. Then I move the slider for color and hues over til the picture is black and white. This really helps when trying to determine the lightest to the darkest values in a particular pattern. It makes is sooo much easier to chose fabics.

Hope this isn't confusing.

Also, you can fool around with the slider (hue) and see the image in only the color you like (all blue, all red, etc.).
