I have a 221 singer and it is great, it only does straight stiches and great to take with you any where.

I had this 550 and after fighting with it for 6 mos. I went back to the old Singer that I had used for almost 40 years. The 550 is not worth any money you may put into it. Keep looking and pass this one by.
