In the Connecting Threads catalog, they say their fabric is made in North America. Since they don't say "made in the USA", I assume that some of the processing is done in Canada.

I have bought tons of things from Connecting Threads in the past, but very little fabric. They have a 40% off book sale every so often and I love that you can "peek" inside a book on their site. I've also bought tools from them. Their site is very easy to navigate and it's easy to spend $50 for the free shipping.

:D :D :D
Their webstie says that the cotton used to make their fabric is grown in the USA. I don't know about North America. Maybe the cottom is processed and printed somewhere else but the cotton comes from USA

Thanks Okie, I just read that on their site too. It really does make you wonder where the rest of the processing is done!

KalTex who makes the fabric for CT is in Mexico. Here is their website. http://www.kaltex.com/kaltex/telas.html

They seem to be a very big world wide manufacturer.

There's no mistake, it says 100% Mexican. I don't think I've ever seen that before. The origin of something I guess should be a concern to me, but I'm afraid if I really took an interest I would get so depressed at how much is not made in the USA. Years ago my DH's family wouldn't buy anything made outside the USA until they couldn't hardly find the necessities or staples they needed. They kind of bent under the pressure. Thanks for the info.

One thing I've noticed about CT fabric, the back side is just as nice as the front design and usually in a solid color that matches perfectly. I can tell a difference from the back to the front of Moda and other big name brands as being the back. And I noticed my older Moda fabric is much better then the newer Moda. The older has more heft and doesn't ravel as much.

I have used Connecting Threads fabrics in kits and find them very satisfactory. From what I've read most of the fabrics are made here in the United States which is huge factor for me. :-P
