Met another board member today!
I met finimom at 1200 for quilting and shopping. First we went to the quilt store on post where we looked, went to the ATM, purchased way too much fabric then went to cut scraps up for a rag quilt for her and a man quilt for me on the shop's Accuquilt. Little ole me jammed the Accuquilt and one know-it-all newby cut up her hands and bled onto my new fabric from the 2.5 inch strip die - ignored my suggestion to get the allen wrench from the start then had the nerves to ask me if I was sure we needed an allen wrench. smh. We ended up taking the Accuquilt apart when know-it-all left and put it back together. If anyone needs any assistance with this machine please contact one of us. We got you covered. As for all the blood.....know-it-all had the nerves to call me over to explain to me why she kept getting cut up when I told her at least three times the dies are BLADES and will cut you. Please be careful. ---Went way over her head. The best quilt shop person in the world cut and gave me back the fabric
know-it-all messed up because she also refused to get a band-aid and apply pressure. Blood everywhere. Needless to say we had a great day. Finimom learned my secret to my out of contol stash (the 70% off the rest of the bolt, generous remnents and bolt ends) and constant bartering among the other quilters. During this trip I traded my scraps for the rest of the scraps a worker used to make a quilt that I brought fabric for to make one of my own. ~Erika.

I agree with Erika - we had a great day. I am so glad I met her, she is a lot of fun to be with and she very generously let me go through her scraps and choose enough to make a quilt top. We had a great time taking the Accuquilt apart and putting it back together again. I can't wait to go back for more...
