Default Cost of new mid-arm machines

Somewhere in the recent (6 months maybe?) I saw a post where I thought prices of different mid arm (18") machines were posted. Does anyone remember it? or can if you've bought a machine in the past year, can you tell me how much it was? I only need a machine, have a frame it would fit on already. Would like to know about the HQ Avante, Tin Lizzie, Notlting, Baby Lock Crown Jewel and Pfaff 18.8 Grand, or any other 18" machine with a stitch regulator. Thanks so much in advance.

18" is actually a longarm according to the definitions I've seen. You can find the cost of 18" Innova packages on their web site, but I don't know if it will list the machine by itself. For a longarm, the frame is an important part of the package. The frame you have may work well with some machines, but not at all with others, so be sure to check that out before purchasing.

18 months ago, a Crown Jewel was $9,999 at a quilt show. That was with stitch regulation and without the computer.

I bought my Nolting Fun Quilter a couple of years ago and they listed on the site how much they were.

I got my Pfaff 18.8 Grand Quilter in September at a local quilt shop, when they were changing out to the new series....It was with the grace rails and etc, tho ( 5'-'10') Stitch Reg and etc. and it cost me about $7000.00 (after all was said and done and taxed).

Thanks so much everyone for your input. Looks like I will have to work hard and track down a gently used machine to fit my needs and budget.

Check out the Handi Quilter website. Go into the forums you will find some great deals on used machines.

Have you looked at the ALPQS machines? I have the Freedom which has a 26" throat and I love it. But if my budget would have been tighter, I would have been forced to settle with the 18" machine which is the Lenni. It is also a very nice machine and I do know someone who has a Lenni and has a business quilting for others. I just got an email today from APQS showing their used machines for sale. They have a 2010 Lenni for $7900 which is very reasonable proce for a Lenni. I would not hesitate to buy a used machine. ou can find out more about the APQS machines by gong on the APQS Website. There is also a Forum on their and people also have used machines for sale on the Forum. You may be able to find one on there that is located near you. Good luck with your search.

You can try craigslist also, often, depending on the size of your area, they will have used ones up for sale, some almost new.
