Default Cotton appliqued onto flannel

Hi everyone,

Quick question. I'm thinking of making the "Eat, Play, Sleep, Repeat" baby quilt using a flannel background and regular quilting cotton for the words. Would that work, or would the difference in the fabrics make it wonky and ugly? I've never combined the two. Thanks!

Definitely combine them - the difference in texture will be noticeable enough to emphasize the words, and also give Baby something else to touch and explore.

You should be fine - however due to the fact that flannel shrinks (normally) more than regular cotton, I would prewash

I'd make sure to wash the fabric so you will have no weird shrinkage later between the two fabrics. I bet it will look cute.

Please show us when you have the finished product. I sure will work fine. I would also say to be sure and wash the flannel first.
