    1. Oriented strand board (OSB), also known as sterling board, sterling OSB, aspenite, and smartply in British English, is an engineered wood particle board formed by adding adhesives and then compressing layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations.

I did the same thing. I covered mine with a vinyl table cloth. It has the fuzzy stuff on the back. I have had it like this for about 7 years. not a stitch of trouble.

I just built one using 2 Better Homes and Gardens 4 cube organizers and 2 of the 8 cube organizers. I used a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood on top and covered it with peel and stick tiles then finished the edges by gluing measuring tapes to each side. I used 4 tapes total so that I could start with one on the left edge each time. I use the measuring tapes all the time. Here are a couple pictures.

    Hi there Joan,
My cousin has a big table in her craft room covered with cutting mats glued to the table. They may not be expensive ones but are great for cutting on. She still uses her good mats as well. But the convenience of having something straight away to cut on is perfect.
