Default cracked olfa blade

has anyone ever cracked an olfa rotary blade before i must admit i was shocked and it was about time to change the blade but still ive been quilting about 7 years and never had it happen before. i really couldnt figure out what id done at first i told my hubby my blade felt weird i was still cutting with it lol and he said hand it here and figured it out in a few seconds boy did i feel dumb. it was kinda odd in all my years it had never happened before.

I've never heard of that. I have run over a pin and created a divot on the blade edge. I am glad that your husband found it before it broke. You could have really hurt yourself if you had been pressing on it when it snapped.

Never heard of that either, sure have heard of people having two blades in at the same time though. Good thing you weren't hurt.

Humm I haven't ever heard of that either. Did it hurt your holder along with the blade? Good thing you are ok. Something to check before we cut.

I had one crack on me too! Actually noticed that hsi batch(I buy pack of 5) seemed to dull very quickly-had to change them after cutting squares from just a few yards of fabric

I wonder what Olfa would say if you contacted them....perhaps worth a phone call and/or an email at least. You have nothing to loose....

That's quite scary!!! You could be maimed. Now I'm going to be very careful. If it happened to two people here, it can happen to anyone. And a piece of it can fly....
