Default Craftsy Classes?

Craftsy has a special for their online classes at $15.00. I'm wondering if any of you have used them and if so any recommendations?

I'm taking the block of the month class that was free a while back & they are teaching us lots of different techniques which is fun. You have video tutorials for the visual quilters and they also have printable instructions for each block. I think the class is great, but I'm not a fan of the pattern for this one. I've seen others I probably would have liked better. All in all, I've had a very positive experience and if you get hung up ask questions and the teacher will answer you. Very interactive!! Good luck and have fun!

I am a new quilter and have never really used my sewing machine much. I have signed up for the BOM and Chocolate classes, just because they were free! I haven't made a block or a truffle yet! But that's not really where my interests lie... I started the Sewing Studio with Diana Rupp but haven't really started the course yet. I really have so much to learn... Project Upcycle with Betz White was something I thought I'd be interested in, but once I started, it wasn't for me at all, so I asked for a refund and it was credited back to my debit card in a few days. You do have to cancel in the first 30 days for the refund, but they were very nice about it.
The first class I took was Machine Quilting with Wendy Butler Berns and I learned so much! I figured I wasn't ever going to take a class at a store, so this was a better option. Then I took Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine and Beyond Basic Machine Quilting with Ann Petersen. The first one is a great beginner course and the second one is more advanced. Too advanced for me right now, but it's amazing. All the instructors are very good, they don't talk to you like a second-grader or talk over your head. If you have a question or comment, they respond within the next day or so. They explain why they are going to do something and how to do it then they do it and the camera is right there. My only complaints would be that you have to watch the price of something you want and wait for it to get in your budget and that you can't use the full version on the mobile device. I enjoy reading other comments and suggestions too. You can also take notes during the class and the video stops while you're typing. Then when you refer back to that note, you can watch that part of the course. Oh, and another complaint: my speakers aren't the best, and I wish they had a transcript or dubbing or something like that.

I recommend that you try one of them and if you don't like it, they will give you a refund or another course for free.

I saw that offer, too, and immediately ordered two more classes. I LOVE the Craftsy classes because I live in a very rural area and cannot get to quilt shops for classes. I've done the two Jenny Doan classes, enjoyed them, and go back to them from time to time to remember a project I saw and want to do now (the nice part about having access forever). Do at least sign up for the free BOM class and check out the other quilting classes. (I'm also taking the machine quilting and paper piecing ones.

Thanks for this information. I might try one now. I would rather do this at home than haul all my "stuff" somewhere else to do it. Also, when I go to the LQS for a class, I always buy more fabric! I need to stay out of the quilt shop.

I took the "Quilting Big Projects on a Small Machine" class with Ann Peterson. I LOVED it! The best thing is, once you pay for the class, it's yours to keep and view forever. You can go back and watch all of it or part of it whenever you like. You can ask questions and see other quilters' questions and the answers they received. You can take notes and add bookmarks. I think this is a wonderful resource and I think the prices are very fair considering you own the class after purchase. I plan to get the Beyond Basic Machine Quilting next. I highly recommend these Craftsy classes.

I had an email from sew daily over the weekend with a half off sale, and then a new email from craftsy with the $14.99 sale yesterday. No code, just a link to their catalog with special pricing.
