Default Crazy Quilt Embellishments.....

I am collecting mens neck ties and I want to make a crazy quilt out of them. Can anyone tell me where I can get all of the embellishments. I've purchased some trinkets such as tiny silver clam shells, sea horses, crabs etc to make a block with an ocean theme. I'm looking for tiny amounts of sequence, small trinkets, lace, buttons, and any other small items that can be used in a quilt square to make a theme. I've checked Ebay for the estate sales that sell these type items in lots but almost all of them have tons of rick rack and not much else. I need many different items but in very small quantities. I started buying some lace and ribbon on the rolls but I'm going to end up with tons of this stuff that I'm probably never going to use ever again. Any suggestions! ! ! ! If anyone has any of these items that they don't need I can pay a reasonable price for them. I only need small quantities, probably less that 8-10 inches on any one item.

JoAnn's has lots of stuff. Look in the ribbons section but also the jewelry and yarn sections! Michael's has stuff too; I look at their $1 stuff.

M&J trimmings and toho shoji are two shops in NYC in the garment district that have phenomenal embellishments. I believe they do have websites, too.

If you send me a PM with your address, I will mail you an envelope of bits and pieces I have that I know I won't use. I have been keeping "stuff" for years, just can't bring myself to throw it out. Let me know if you want buttons of any sort, what sizes/sorts etc. as I have some of those too.

I always check out the costume jewelry when it's clearanced or at thrift stores. I've got a couple of boxes of "stuff" I've collected over the years. Just keep it in mind when you go to thrift stores or to Kohl's, garage sales, estate sales. It's not something you can do in a day.
