I'm working on my first crazy quilt and am wondering how I should go about quilting it. I have 9 inch blocks which will be stitched together to make a couch throw. I'm wondering after sandwiching, what is the best method to quilt. Any ideas? :?:

I would think just a simple allover design, like meandering.
    that's my 2cents or maybe 1 1/2

Kathy, thanks. I don't do much machine quilting, but may have to learn. I prefer hand quilting, but think the thicknesses would be too much for my fingers.

A Crazy Quilt has so much going on, I think in-the-ditch or tied.

Have you thought about tying it instead of quilting? I've used perle cotton (usually found around the embroidery floss). It doesn't seem to fray as much as crochet thread, embroidery floss or yarn.

I made a crazy quilt. last year. It is queen size, I tyed mine with blue satin ribbon. Mind you I got very ornate with my crazy quilt and went off with victorian-deco, My own color theme of nothing but various blues. Your right about it being to thick to quilt. By hand or machine. So I tyed, and used the blue narrow satin ribbon to add to the victorian style as well as to the charm of the quilt. I rarely tye my quilts, but this one begged for it.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll tie it and now I have a couple new ideas for what to tie it with!

I have made two crazy quilts. One I did in the ditch and the other one I
had quilted only on the small borders and the larger one. :)
