I have a neighbor that is graduating from Cosmetology, I would like to make her something that she could and would use for her career, anyone have any ideas? scissors case I was thinking, but there's more to the business. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Or I could make something entirely different than something for her career. my thoughts are running crazy....sorry!

But heres the thing she is Spanish, she had been in this country for I think 5 years, and I thought making her something special would be a good thing...

Maybe a purse or tote featuring tools of the trade.

I think a tote featuring the tools of her trade is a great idea.

expand the scissors case idea and make a roll to hold all her tools. If you're not sure what they are, check out a beauty supply shop to see what they sell for ideas. pockets for brushes, scissors, etc. Maybe use one of the new vinyl fabrics to make a cover for haircutting...or use the iron-on vinyl to make a custom one. how about insulbrite to make a pocket for curling iron/brush...oh the ideas!!!!!! customize a purse insert (the kind used to transfer items from purse to purse)to make a portable carrier for her items plus a tote to carry her tools in and for storage.

Most of the ladies wear aprons to cover their clothes.

An apron with pockets might be good. I use batting and make them reversible. I also spray them with the waterproofing product used for tents that I buy in the camping equipment area. I'm sure you will get a lot of good ideas from all the creative people on the board. Good luck!
