Here is a quilt I made for my son.

One of the two 12" square blocks I cross stitched.

Remember the old TG&Y stores? There is one in Quincy, IL and they still carry the stamped blocks.

Cross stitch is my first passion. I like to stitch on linnen over 2 threads. The linnen does not have holes like aida and stitches in better like regular fabric. You can also use tear away fabric (white with blue cross lines). I have stitched on finished quilts and on unfinished blocks too. I think it all depends on the look you are trying to get :) Good luck and happy stitching :)
