I just tried crumb quilting for the first time, I am addicted!!! It is like putting together a creative jigsaw puzzle made of fabric. I have 2 UFO's that have to be done soon, but I am a crumb quilt junkie right now. Is anyone else bitten by the crumb bug? I have been saying pieces of all the projects I have been doing for the past 20 years, extra blocks, sample blocks, strips, etc. I feel so creative doing this. Any body interested in doing a crumb block monthly exchange? I am doing 6" finished blocks. I feel so "green" too right now, keeping the scraps out of the landfill (like I could throw away fabric, duh).

Yes please do post a picture! I've seen small crumb blocks that were made into a quilt and they are beautiful. I'm not sure where you would start! Then another one with random scrap pieces a little bigger thn the very small pieces and it was beautiful as well! There have been a few posted on the board if you do a search you will find them. I can't wait to see yours!

hmmmmmm some of my crazy blocks look about like this... maybe I've been crumming all along and didn't know it.....
I use this method to wind down.... it is so stressfree. I mean, so what if u mess up, its not expensive fabric , no set design , no keeping things in order... I love it...

I just can't make myself throw fabric away.. even the tiniest pieces.. I save threads, clipping, dog ears, etc for stuffings and such.......

I love making crumb blocks! I have 4" & 6" blocks going. I prefer the larger blocks - my string blocks are 8" finshed - but the smaller ones are so cute! They look great as cornerstones.
