LOL....funny how we can remember those things we
had to have, once someone mentions them.My only tip is to start your cut in the wider spot at the beginning & cut to the end of the cutting line.

I started to buy one of those today, and I didn't. I think I will go back and get it.

I have problems cutting strips, too, usually after the 2,3, or 4th one. I'm going to try some of the tips here.

There seems to be several methods to cutting strips...most
of which I'd tried.Don't know why, but was lucky to get 1-2
straight strips.....no matter how it was done.Maybe it's just me
but was getting to where I dreaded cutting strips.
So to get 1st 2 strips with no elbow bends was great.Hope you
find what works for you & can use a coupon:-)
Save your receipt & wrapping in case you need to return it.DH calls me the receipt queen....but he doesn't laugh when he needs a receipt. LOL Pat Ce

I haven't bought that ruler yet since I keep thinking that it looked too small to cut strips with... How many times do you have to fold the fabric?

Oh I love my June Tailor Short Cut ruler! I use it all the time. Be careful about picking it up by the corner though, I broke my first one this way. I think for the money this is one of the best tools on the market for quilters and crafters.

Have only used it twice, but followed directions & folded twice, cut off 1st 1/2" to straighten, then cut strips. No reason you can't use smaller fabric & fold once.As I said, start at the little wider spot at beginning of row & cut,& stop at the little wider spot at other end.Directions show how to use it.
Our Walmart fabric depts has it for $17.

I've had mine for 6 or so years. I bought these little 1/4" dots that feel like sand paper and put them on mine to keep it from slipping and works Great. Use them on all my rulers. Hope this helps.

I have found that I have to either pull threads to make sure that I'm straight or will rip a piece off one end and then make sure the ends are straight by alighing them from that edge. It's amazing how the fabric can be so uneven.
