Default d4p question

My question is how much of a color difference do I need to have for a d4p?and it look good. I have made many d9p and a pop of color is wonderful, do soft colors work well with this pattern? Also does anyone know where I can buy a pattern for this quilt either to download or order at snail mail.

It looks absolutely classic and old fashioned in soft colors. Especially with sashing. Want me to pm a low contrast, soft color sample?

Oh, please post the pic! I'd love to see it too!
Here's a link to a post on 1/20 showing the D4P with a twist in blues and yellow that is beautiful! Hope the link works! If not, the post was on 1/20, Layout question D4P.
