Default Dead sewing machine

I was in the middle of sewing my BOM when a poltergeist got a hold of my peddle and it would not stop. Now I have to go get my other machine that is 20 miles away . Why do they come around when you are in the middle of something you want to get done today.

Don't know. I think sewing machines are also ruled by muphy's law: Anything that can go wrong, will and at the worst possible time.

I've had a ghost in my foot pedal too. I replaced the foot pedal and the machine has been sewing fine for 5 years at least.

When I had a runaway pedal, I unplugged, took it apart and cleaned the dust out..Couldn't hurt...

If it was a convenient time it wouldn't be a problem. Murphy rules! Hope it is just a minor fix. May be just a loose wire or a break in the cord insulation.

Omg...just an hour ago i was quilting with my walking foot...suddenly,it won't stop running when i take my foot off the pedal. I'll try taking it apart and cleaning it tomorrow. What a timely topic!

I was fortunate when my pedal went crazy, running very fast even with my foot off of it...all I had to do was remove the cute little dog's butt from on top of it.
