Default dear jane book

It's finally gotten to me and I'm feeling the urge to tackle this quilt. Anybody done with theirs?

I have one started & have seen lots of finished ones. Trying doing a google search & I bet all kinds of pics will pop up for you.... Good luck & keep posting, let us know how you are doing on it. I find the blocks very challenging, but that's what I like about this quilt too!....

I bought the DJ software from Electric Quilt because I wanted the convenience of being able to print the foundation papers or templates or rotary cutting instructions for each block. I also wanted the layout and the ability to change the block size, fabrics, save multiple variations of the quilt, etc.

The book by itself has very little information in it - basically a color picture and an outline drawing, if I remember correctly.

I didn't want to have to scan each block, edit it, import it and re-draw it in EQ. It's a lot of fun to play with, even if you don't want to do the full-sized quilt or the very small and complicated blocks. The program functions without having to have EQ installed. http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/DearJane/DJR.asp

I absolutely second thepolyparrot's opinion on the book. I checked it out of the library, was not interested in reading the author's commentary about what Jane was thinking while she made the quilt, couldn't find much else of value in the book, and bought the software instead. (Of course I still haven't started the quilt!)

good to know about the software vs book info. I don't have EQ or anything, will the software do anything for me?

The software is stand-alone and you don't need to have EQ to run it.
