Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas day...Kate......
‘Twas the day after Christmas and all through my house,
‘Most all were napping, even my spouse.
But I, in my madness, was at my machine
Trying to finish some gifts not yet seen.
The quilt for my sister was not even pieced,
So thought I would cheat and back it with fleece!
The purses for nieces will look really fancy…
As well as a man-quilt for Bro-in-Law Clancy!
We’ll see them on New Years so I have a few days,
But to get them all done I’ll have to stitch in a daze.
But stitch them I will, because it’s all planned...
If I don’t give them something I’m sure I’d be banned.
As is my custom, I took on so much
That even the elves would have to rush!
I think I’ll try next year to slow down a bit
But my gifts seem to always be a big hit.
Not many among us will do what I do -
Cut fabric to pieces then stitch it anew
And those who don’t sew often wish that they did
When they untie the gift and open the lid.
So if you’re like me and are doing too much,
Have some chocolate or wine (they’re both a good touch!),
Start stitching sooner, or make smaller gifts,
But don’t stop your sewing….we all like it TOO much.
