Decided to Refold Fabric - Any suggestions?
#1
I am trying to store my fabric on shelves - I had originally folded the fabric into quarters (in half 22" & half again 11") and folded on a 6" ruler. This seemed to work well.
I had stored these bundles in plastic crates - So when I put the shelving in the closet, I pulled out what I had folded - but the unfolded fabric...
I folded it in half (22")and then on a 6" ruler - but when I stacked a couple of these on top of each other they fell over.
So now I am refolding them all in the original quarters and they seem to stack up much better. Also decided to use a 5" wide ruler.
Does anyone else have any other suggestions?
HELP - I love my fabric - BUT I WANT THIS DONE SO I CAN HAVE FUN SEWING........

I just found a piece of cardboard that was about 6" wide and 24" inches long. I folded material selvedge to selvedge then wrapped around template. Good to go. My smaller things I did on a 3" wide template.
Hope this helps.

I fold them so they fit the shelf I plan to use. I have a smaller bookcase so the folds were different than what I did with the wider shelves. I want to be able to see the folded ends but I don't want to waste shelf space.
I don't believe there is a right or wrong answer here.
