Default Denim and cotton velveteen quilt?

I was going through stuff from my Mom - and found a lot of cotton velveteens that are in garments - I would deconstruct the garments and wash the velveteen before cutting further.

I'm thinking that velveteen on one side and denim on the other would work out well?

Opinions and/or thoughts about this idea?

Give it a go! It is recycled fabric so you have nothing to lose. I have wanted to try the denim circle quilt with raw edges. Which pattern are you thinking of?

Sometimes I like the weight - maybe because when I was a kid - heavier meant warmer -

Something with large pieces!

I was sort of thinking about a rag-type quilt -

I'd go for it. What have you got to lose? If anything, it would make a great outdoors quilt ... soft to sit on and durable.

Would give it a try as you have nothing to lose.

I would incorporate the velveteen into either a scrappy vintage looking quilt with embellishments or a sweatshirt jacket. What stunners those would be!

I'm wondering how much fraying you will have when you wash the fabrics. Maybe better to wash before deconstructing? I think they will make great rag quilts.

I was thinking about at least letting the hems out - to minimize that fold line fade.
