Do you hand piece?

I have a book that I am reading right now to learn hand piecing.

Quilting by Hand (Author: Jinny Beyer)

I also watched a video with Jinny Beyer and wow does she go fast. She only hand piece and hand quilt. (She never uses a sewing machine)

I mostly hand piece. I just finished an apple core that I hand pieced and hand quilted. I also hand pieced and quilted a double wedding ring for both of my kids when they got married.

Kudos to you, Teresa T. Your quilts are beautiful.

I have hand pieced. The first quilt class I took the teacher had us do everything in kind of an old fashion way. We used templates, sandpaper and hand pieced and quilted a table topper.

I think for some quilts (curved), it is actually easier than trying to do it on a machine.

I gave my mom that table topper and another all done by machine. She uses (& washes) both regularly and the hand pieced one has held up as good as the machine one.

I like to do both. I keep the hand pieced in a tote to take with me to the VA hospital, riding in the car or any other time I am sitting idol. I get about 3 machine finished quilts to every one I piece by hand. I always hand quilt everything except the smaller doll quilts.
